WW II Recollections

When:
Saturday, Nov 10, 2018 10:30am to 12:00pm

On December 27, 1944 the German submarine U-877 blundered into the New York to Liverpool convoy HX327. It was detected, attacked and destroyed by the Canadian corvette HMCS St. Thomas. This incident is a very rare if not unique case of a submarine sunk in combat without any loss of life. Veteran ERA Ralph Lloyd was manning the throttle of the corvette, and his recollections will be shared with the younger generations. Presented by Jean-Pierre Cahorn. Registration is required.
