Middleton’s Art Wall, April, 2021

Posted on

The Rosa M. Harvey Middleton & Area Library would like to welcome local art enthusiasts to visit and view our art display featuring and promoting local artists in our area.

For the month of April we are featuring the artwork of local painter Dan Bertrand.

Dan discovered his interest in painting in the mid 1990s while taking part in oil painting lessons in Sherkston, Ontario. However, with a family who always kept him on the go, Dan set the paintbrush down until 2010. It was then that he began experimenting with acrylics after watching an online tutorial. With acrylic paint becoming his preferred medium, Dan set out to feature the world around him in his work.

Dan uses his phone to take photos of the beautiful scenery that he and his wife experience on their travels. Recently moving to the maritimes, Dan’s favourite subjects to paint include fishing boats, old buildings, and seascapes. This pairs well with his new home of Nova Scotia.

Dan’s work will be on display at the Rosa M. Harvey Middleton and Area Library until the end of April. We encourage you all to come by and view his beautiful works of art.
