Middleton’s Art Wall, September, 2021

Posted on

The Rosa M. Harvey Middleton & Area Library would like to welcome local art enthusiasts to visit and view our art display featuring and promoting local artists in our area.

For the month of September we are featuring the artwork of our own Anne Crocker.

Working with words, and playing with designs, colours, and textiles have been a part of Anne’s life since she was little. She dabbled in poetry, learned to sew, quilt, crochet, and embroider at a young age. Upon learning how to rug hook, Anne quickly grew bored of following patterns and has been designing her own projects ever since.

Anne has also written advertising articles published in the local newspaper (The Mirror-Examiner) as well as Rural Delivery Magazine. In spring of 2000 Anne graduated a freelance writing course with honors, and then again completed Writing for Children and Teenagers in 2003.

In 1998 Anne began to design art with coloured egg shells to create mosaic-style images on wood. Have You Ever Heard A Fun Pun Word, a children’s book written and illustrated by Anne using her egg shell mosaics, was completed in 2000, and finally published in 2021. Copies of Have You Ever Heard a Fun Pun Word can be found at The Inside Story, Endless Shores Books & Other Treasures, and Mad Hatter Books.
