Frequently Asked Questions

While our libraries are closed, we know you have questions. We will update this page as needed.

I have holds that are waiting for pickup. What will happen to those? If you have holds that are ready for pick-up, they will be held for you until the closure period has ended.

Can I return my books? No. We have closed our Book Drops until further notice. Please keep your materials for now.

Will fines be incurred on the library materials I have at home? No. There will be no fines during our closure period.  All items now have a due date of May 21, 2020.

Can I still get a library card?  Yes, when you fill out our on-line form, we will send your new card information to you by email or phone (if an email is not provided). If you have forgotten your PIN, or your card has recently expired, contact us here.

I usually use the Borrow by Mail Service. Will I still receive materials? The last materials were mailed out on Monday, March 16. No further materials will be sent until the libraries reopen. Please do not return materials to us at this time. There will be no fines incurred.

Will I receive holds or bill notices during the closure? No, these notices have been suspended.

I want to use the electronic resources, but I am having trouble. What should I do? If you need help with OverDrive contact us at Overdrive@valleylibrary.ca for all other services please complete our Contact Us form.

I have an Inter-library Loan due. Will that have fines? No fines will be incurred on those books either. Please keep them until the libraries reopen.
